To get a sense of what your guide will look like once launched we offer various preview options (depending on the type of guide).

Preview new user checklists and contextual guides

To access the preview when creating these guides you need to navigate to the "Preview" tab. This will show you a preview of your guide's inline and as a side bar. You can interact with your guides just as you would in-app. This includes:

  • completing and un-completing steps

  • clicking CTAs

  • exploring the branching journey

    • Note: you can only preview one level of branching, not any nested levels

WARNING: If your guides include relative links you will not be able to accurately click through them in preview mode. To test links please include the full URL.

Preview announcements

Announcement previews live update as you are creating the announcement on the same page as the editor so you can see exactly what the announcement will look like in real time!

Note: if you want to see the interaction across multiple guides you will need to do this in your app via a test account

Preview flows, tooltips, or embedded guides

For content that is anchored to an element in your page like tooltips, and embedded inline contextual guides you can see what they will look like in your app.

Go through the WYSIWYG builder experience to determine where your guide should appear. Once completed you will see the URL and selected element in the targeting tab.

From the Content or Preview & Style tab you can hit the "Preview in your app" button to remind yourself where your guide will appear in-app and how it will look.

If you are using 'autocomplete on button click' you can also test this from the Preview experience. You cannot test autocomplete via events or attributes from the preview experience.
