Attributes that exist in a different system or don't live in a database yet can be added to Bento via CSV

Head to the data tab in Bento to see what data already is being passed in.

If you don't see an attribute you need you can manually pass in attributes for users and accounts via CSV.

These attributes can be used for launching guides or for dynamic URLs.

You can only add attributes manually (like this) for users and accounts that are already in Bento, not new users.

How to

Add attributes via CSV from the Attributes tab in Bento.

  1. Choose Account or User level attributes

  2. Choose one-off attribute (tag) or a permanent attribute

    1. A one-off attribute will load under the attribute 'Bento tag'. The Tag can be replaced by re-uploading different files.

    2. Permanent attributes will have their own label. If you want to create a new attribute for a set of users this is choice you want.

  3. Download the template. There has to be a column for unique account_ids or user_ids that match what is already in Bento

Watch-outs

  • New users and accounts cannot be created this way

  • Unlike with tags, when an attribute is created, it will appear for every account and/or user in your system. Where you have no values that attribute will still appear in the customer details table. Therefore be mindful about how many attributes you create.
