The Bento Chrome extension is what powers our no-code visual editor. Once you have it downloaded, you'll be able to:
Build experiences like flows and tooltips (even with AI)
Add inline cards, onboarding checklists, and even video galleries to your app
Add automation, such as completing a step on button click
The latest version of this extension works even if your engineers haven't yet installed the Bento snippet, making it much easier to demonstrate to your teammates what this will unlock.
This extension works best with Chrome, Brave, or any other Chromium-based browser.
Download the Bento extension from the Chrome store
If your Bento snippet is installed...
The Chrome extension enables you to use our no code visual builder.
Our no code visual builder allows you to:
Choose the location for Bento guides in your product
Add visual tags to steps and guides
Set-up button triggered step auto-complete based
Use the AI flow builder
Once the extension is downloaded you don't need to engage with the chrome extension and you can use all parts of the Bento builder experience.
We recommend updating the chrome extension regularly.
If your Bento snippet is not installed...
You can use the Bento Chrome extension to place experiences in-app and see them in-app before your snippet is installed.
If you downloaded the extension and don't have a Bento account, sign-up here.
Once you sign-up build any Bento experience and place it in your app. Learn more here.
You can then preview or edit in your app to see the experience
If you want to launch the experience so that other folks at your company can see the experience (for review), let us know.
Those other users will need to download the chrome extension
We will also need to enable permissions for you to enable you to launch to others within your organization prior to snippet install.
Please note that this extension is upgraded regularly, so if you hit any issues, please report them to support@trybento.co
Security and permissions
The Bento extension asks for permissions to read and change all your data across all websites. That's because you can use Bento to build and preview experiences even on sites where the snippet is not installed.
However you cannot launch experiences until the snippet is installed, so the actual scope of impact is limited.
